ROCHESTER ALLERGY ACTION AWARDS VIRTUAL FUNDRAISING GALA

Wednesday, October 21, 2020 | 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Facebook Watch Party

Join us for our third annual fundraising gala. Our Halloween themed evening will be a virtual watch party on our Facebook Page. Brenda Tremblay of WXXI-FM Classical 91.5 will be our MC for the evening. As you’ll see below, this year’s honorees have done and continue to do amazing work for those suffering with life threatening allergies in Monroe County and beyond. Because treats can be a problem for many of our friends, many of them are very talented tricksters. In the spirit of Halloween, they will share with us some of their best tricks.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and contributors, you will have the opportunity to bid on family fun gift baskets in our silent auction.

This year the Dr. John J. Condemi Award will go to Dr. Syed Shahzad Mustafa from the Department of Clinical Immunology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Mustafa’s clinical, research, and advocacy work on behalf of those with life threatening allergies in Monroe County has made our community safer. He has also been instrumental in the development and success of our Epi Near You New York training program.

The John J. Condemi Award is given to medical professionals doing work to expand awareness of allergies and how to treat them as well as advocacy to ensure access to epinephrine however and wherever needed.

The 2020 Ruth T. Cornell Award will be awarded to Jared Saiontz, a youth whose advocacy work has generated support for the passage of allergy supportive legislation at the New York State and Federal levels. As one who thrives with multiple allergies, Jared is a model for self advocacy such that legislators are moved to act. .

The Ruth T. Cornell Award is given to those outside the medical community who have significant impact on their community. .
