advocacyThere are many advocacy initiatives underway in the allergy and anaphylaxis community that the Allergy Advocacy Association will bring to your attention.

Abbie Benford Memorial Foundation

KeepSmilin4Abbie.org has two focus areas; increase awareness and support the community. On the awareness front we support new anaphylaxis awareness programs including development of original content and programs to educate students about the causes of anaphylaxis. Our support to the community includes funding leading edge research and two scholarships associated with our "Keep Smilin'" award to high school students.

Allergy Advocacy Association

The mission of the Allergy Advocacy Association is to help inform,
educate and raise awareness of the public at large and at-risk
individuals to allergies and anaphylaxis.

It is also a major health care information provider in the Rochester, NY area.

Allergy and Asthma Network

Allergy and Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics (AANMA)
is the leading nonprofit family health organization dedicated
to eliminating suffering and death due to asthma,
allergies and related conditions.

Mothers of Asthmatics is also a principle supporter of the Anaphylaxis Community Experts project.

Asthma And Allergy Foundation Of America

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), a not-for-profit organization founded in 1953, is the leading patient organization for people with asthma and allergies, and the oldest asthma and allergy patient group in the world.

Emily Vonder Meulen Memorial Foundation

Build awareness of, educate about, and to raise funds benefiting food allergy programs and research. In addition, to award scholarships for seventh grade students attending St. Dominic School who reflect Emily’s life, spirit, and dedication to family.

Food Allergy Management & Education (FAME) Tool-Kit

The FAME tool-kit is designed to help school nurses, school administrators, principals, teaching staff, support staff, school nutrition staff, parents/ guardians, and students with and without food allergies learn:

The NATALIE GIORGI SUNSHINE FOUNDATION was created to reduce dangerous food allergy deaths by spreading public awareness, providing education regarding emergency responses, and increasing the availability of epinephrine injectors in public places.
